About Arctic Verge

Welcome to Arctic Verge! We are a small family-run business in Levi, Finnish Lapland. We offer personal Northern Lights experiences and unique accommodation surrounded by the beautiful nature of Lapland.

Who Are We?

Arctic Verge is run by us, Desley and Janette Sas.

Desley is originally from the Netherlands and moved to Finland in 2020 to build a life together with Janette in Lapland. Janette grew up in Sirkka, near Levi, and has known the area her entire life.

After working in tourism in Lapland for several years, we decided to start our own business. We wanted to create something where we could combine our experience and love for nature with a personal approach to our guests.

What Do We Offer?

At Arctic Verge, we focus on small-group experiences, peaceful surroundings and enjoying the beautiful nature of Lapland.

During our heated sleigh rides, we take you through the snowy forests and winter landscapes of Lapland. You can sit comfortably in a heated sleigh pulled by a snowmobile while enjoying the scenery along the way.

At our Northern Lights Basecamp, we spend the evening at our own location beside Lake Munajärvi. Here, you can relax by the fire, enjoy a warm drink and, with a little luck, watch the Northern Lights dancing across the sky.

We also offer unique overnight stays in our AuroraHut, a floating accommodation on a peaceful lake surrounded by nature. And although the name might suggest otherwise, the AuroraHut is not just special in winter. It is a wonderful place to stay throughout the entire year.

In winter, you can enjoy the snowy landscape from the comfort of your warm bed, with the chance to see the Northern Lights on clear nights. In summer, the surroundings completely transform. The lake comes alive with birds and other wildlife, and thanks to the Midnight Sun, it stays light even in the middle of the night. You can spend hours enjoying the views, the peaceful atmosphere and the nature around you.

Every season has its own charm. Whether you come for the Northern Lights, the Midnight Sun or simply want to escape the busy everyday life for a few days, our AuroraHut is a special place to stay all year round.

Personal and Small-Scale

We believe it is important that our guests feel welcome and have the time to truly enjoy Lapland.

That is why we work with small groups and try to keep our experiences as personal as possible. No mass tourism, just relaxed experiences where nature is at the centre of everything.

Because we live and work in the area ourselves, we know the surroundings well and are always happy to share our experiences and stories.

Whether you join us for a winter sleigh ride, spend an evening by the fire or stay overnight in our AuroraHut, we hope to give you a special memory of Lapland.
